Today started off a little rocky with Mom not being able to keep anything down. We had our visit from Home Health today and got good news that they should be able to manage her pain far better, so we're looking forward to that!

The nurse had some suggestions for food advising that warm soothing things high in protein and fat are better than cold liquids. So we made mashed potatoes and gravy instead of an Ensure or smoothie. BIG hit with Mom and it's stayed down so far :-)

We're sharing the comments that have been left so far so keep them coming, it means a lot to Mom.

Well I just got this link from Cynthia and can't stop watching that slide show. Some great pictures - music was a good choice too......its so great that you guys did this.

It's hard to know what to say here but I wanted to comment at least so you know that I am thinking of you.

I have been wishing comfort and strength to Beautiful (aunt) Sandra and hope she knows how loved she is. Seeing those pictures brought my own flashback slide show to my mind - such wonderfully vivid memories - I can see and hear her so clearly . . .

Thank you for doing this blog - I'm sure I will be checking it daily.

I love you so all so much - please give an extra special heartfelt squeeze of love and appreciation to Sandra from me. Oh, how amazingly wonderful she is.

Hi Sanndie, the lady with the most wonderful smile and dimples to match. I was glad to hear that they were successful in getting some taters and gravy to you that agreed with your system and stayed down - now that's a diet that I could get used to!

I have been watching the video (many times over) with amazement and glee as it is so wonderful to see all the adventures with you and your family come through on the presentation.

We still have a lot of snow on the ground, but the temperatures are on the rise, which is a good thing.
The cool nights and warm days are ideal for the sap to run, so the local farmers will be harvesting that wonderful maple syrup over the next few weeks - the window for this is about 4 - 6 weeks, if we get the ideal conditions.

Sandie, know that I think of you all the time and you are in my prayers as well. Your daughter Renae has been so kind and it has been very much appreciated.

I love you Sandie and will send you another note soon. Your guy from the north - Gary

Hi Sandie!!
I hope you don't mind...I want to share this cute story on your blog...
During a visit, Sandie was hit with some nausea, while in bed. With bowl in hand "just in case", Renae putting a nice cold compress on her mom's neck and face, Rhonda rubbing her back.very serious and somber, then..we hear on the news- "...and Jennifer Aniston is shooting a movie in Seattle..."
Sandie stops everything, sits up and says, "Jennifer Aniston is in Seattle shooting a movie??"
Renae and I just look at each other and...I ask, "Are you kidding me?"
We couldn't stop laughing! I love your priorities!!
You have made a great memory for me! That and watching Sound of Music with me. I loved it :) Thank you!!
Hugs and Kisses and I'll see you soon!
I love you !
Rhonda
