Hi Sandie: You look so content with your grandson next to you - what a peaceful picture of you both. Sandie, may you and your family have a wonderful and joyous Easter. Know I'm thinking of you always. Your freind, Love ya, Gary
As most of you have heard, Mom/Sandie hasn't been doing very well. Right after Christmas she ended up in the hospital for a few days with multiple blood clots in her lungs which is something that can happen with Ovarian Cancer. Though she has put up a valiant fight the past few years, this cancer is very aggressive and is drug resistant at this point. It has spread to her liver, spleen, between the ribs, and right lung and the existing tumors in her abdomen have grown larger and multiplied ,which effects her intestines and colon. This makes it difficult to digest solid food so she is on liquids.
At this point there's really nothing more we can do but focus on helping her to be as comfortable as possible. (She did do full rounds of the 714X but there were no signs of improvement.) We're currently setting up Home Health services to help monitor her care.
Everyone needs to be assured that she is at peace about what is coming and greatly appreciates all the love and support from family and friends. She shared that if someone asks what they can do to tell them to pray for her comfort.
She also welcomes visitors when she's up to it, but it is very important that visitors are showing no signs of illness.
